Random sketch

Playing with watercolor and colored pencil.  Speed is the name of the game.  How full can I make a sketch/painting look without spending hours laboring over it.  I like this result.  I would maybe add more values and color, but for the most part, this is working IMHO.

Pen and ink sketch

It's been a while since I've done a pen and ink drawing.  Something about how a solid black line has turned me off over the the last year.  I use mostly pencil and paint these days.  I'm not sure why inking has bothered me.  Maybe because "black" makes everything feel too flat??  Hyper point of view on my part.  It's just a phase, I'll get over it :-)

Digi practice

Going digital, "working smarter, not harder"

Creating artwork with a computer is beyond working smarter in terms of a rapid work flow.  It's an amazing time saver.  Somethings I can do faster/better the old school way, but not when it comes to waiting for paint to dry.  The computer kicks ass day long on that front.

Here's a sample of a new style I'm trying out.  I have one rule for myself, no scanned artwork outside of using a rough sketch for reference.  Everything is done in the digital world.  We'll see what happens.

Artistic blues!

Here's a sketch I created after reading Stephen King's, "The Bad Little Kid".  The blues I get, photoshop effects rule and I can't seem to copy it naturally ( as of yet )  What's a poor boy artist to do???!?!

Kid's Club Fall, October is popcorn month

Another watercolor comp.  I'm not there, honestly.  I feel like I'm knocking at the door of success, but I have a ways to go.  For now, I'm done with this one.  Popcorn is gooooood.

Kyle's ULTIMATE Real Watercolors for Photoshop

Playing with a new style using Kyle's Watercolors for Photoshop.  I'm trying a "quick" work flow style, if that makes sense.
